During Fall
2006, the GYFL recognized the need to add an additional football team to
accommodate the growing number of boys on its' wait list. The GYFL
President and 2 board Members reached out to Anthony Ferraro, a Cos Cob
Crusher coach since 2002 to help make this vision a reality. Anthony
being a seasoned coach in many different sports for over 8 years and
having Anthony’s youngest son joining the GYFL program in fall 2007, the
GYFL
knew he would be involved in the program for at least another 6 years.
In August 2007, the Riverside Gators began its 1st year in the GYFL and
is led by lifelong Greenwich residents, President Anthony Ferraro and
Vice President Charlie Piro.
Our aspiration is provide a fun and safe learning environment for your
child. Our emphasis is on teamwork, commitment and perseverance. The
Riverside Gators is committed to providing positive communication &
instruction that will not only teach your child the game of football,
but also develop and build your child's confidence and talent. Equally
important, we will cultivate a setting that allows each player to
participate and have fun.
The expectation for our players is simple:Commitment and
Hard Work.
We are excited to be a part of the shaping of this new team. More
importantly, we are thankful that 63 additional boys will have the
opportunity to participate in the game of football. We
are also thrilled to welcome 18 cheerleaders to the Gator organization.
In 2008 the Gators will add a Senior division.
